SEE AND HEAR FROM OUR STUDENTS

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

As a Catholic, Ignatian school, we understand that we are accountable to making SI a more safe, loving, and anti-racist community of belonging for all. Through education and awareness, SI strives to provide students the opportunity to honor and understand the diverse world in which we live. Our goal is to cultivate empathetic, effective leaders, and agents of racial and social justice. The Office of Belonging, Equity, and Excellence is a partner with all offices and departments at SI, helping to guide the community on issues of equity and inclusion, building capacity for cultural competency, and striving to build a culture where all feel accepted, safe, empowered, supported, and affirmed.

Whole Student

Academics

Through a four-year college preparatory curriculum, SI students develop intellectual skills that go beyond academic excellence and requirements for college entrance. The knowledge and skills they acquire lead to wisdom, understanding, and action. Even before they graduate, they are agents of change, seeking to improve their world by striving for justice, compassion and dignity for their communities.

Service

SI offers many service-learning programs for students to engage as learners who walk with those in need. As a vital aspect of our Ignatian character, we invite our SI students to engage in service with and for others, both as a part of their academic requirements and as a part of their everyday lives.

Co-Curriculars

Athletics

At SI, we measure our athletic success not only by how many games are won but also through the values our students develop — sportsmanship, teamwork, commitment, and hard work. Each year, about two-thirds of the student body competes on 66 teams in 15 sports, and our teams have collected numerous league, sectional, NorCal, state, and national championships. SI also has a strength and conditioning program that teaches students about proper nutrition and exercise, and keeps athletes in shape when they aren’t competing. We hope you come out to one of our games to see the Wildcats play!

Arts

SI's performing arts program is the oldest high school performing arts program west of the Mississippi. About one-third of the student body participates in one or more of the following programs: Choral Music, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, and Technical Theater.

Clubs

Every year, SI students can participate in more than 80 clubs, representing various interests. Students meet outside of class to work on the school newspaper, help encourage ecological sustainability, organize rallies, record podcasts, and much more. Our students develop lifelong interests and skills thanks to their start in clubs at SI.
